Today, the children in Miss Melloy's class enjoyed learning about the parts of a tree. They went on a tree hunt around the school grounds, picking out features such as branches, trunk, roots and leaves! The children used their arms to measure the size of the tree trunks and were surprised when they could not wrap their arms all the way round the larger tree trunks! They enjoyed using their leaf identification sheets to name the different leaves they found. Once back in the classroom, the children had a great time creating leaf rubbings using the leaves they collected 🌿🍁
