Outdoor Afternoon

This afternoon, the children in year 4 built dead hedges. Dead hedges provide hiding places and nesting habitats for all sorts of creatures, as well as food for insects. As they rot down, the nutrients are recycled back into the earth below. As a second activity, the children weaved some of the recently fallen willow into a metal archway structure.
